When choosing a train set a number of factors need to be considered. These include not only your interests and budget but also the amount of space that you have at your disposal which will determine the scale that you want to use. There are a number of first rate ‘Hobby’ train sets on the market that will meet almost anyone’s wants. The best place to start is by visiting your local hobby shop.

In the Train Set Gazette we have been able to include ten sets that are representative of these first rate sets. These have been thoroughly tested and included on our project layouts. Each set that we used was a ‘Hobby’ grade set and is certain to provide years of service and fun for anyone who chooses one of them.
